After starting her entrepreneurial career at 20-years-old with £500 borrowed from her mother, Judith careered through a series of retail businesses with her sister-in-law, Margaret Watson – some were successful, some not.
Undaunted by the highs and lows - and lucky enough to share a great working relationship with a “can do” attitude – aps was born in 1984. With rolled up sleeves the pair personally got stuck in to wrapping pallets, driving fork lift trucks and loading wagons – and loved every minute of it.
Although Judith now heads up the business alone after Margaret lost her long battle with cancer, she pays regular tribute to her team who she says continue to live the legacy of laughs and great work ethics that created aps more than 26 years ago.
David supports the MD in planning, developing and implementing commercial and operational strategy in line with aps' overall vision and goals. David is responsible for overseeing the long-term and day-to-day activities of the organisation, including commercial, manufacturing, logistics, storage, planning and maintenance.
With 18 years of contract packing experience, David is a safe pair of hands in ensuring everything runs smoothly at aps.
David qualified as a designer but transferred to sales at an early stage in his career. He has since honed key skills in developing new markets and business opportunites, both at home and abroad.
Having headed-up his own business development consultancy to sectors including manufacturing, service, construction and universities, David brings a wealth of experience to the aps team.
And when he’s not carving out new opportunities, he will undoubtedly be indulging his passion for cycling!
Susan has a varied role at aps - despite her official title and regardless of your involvement with the company - you will undoubtedly come into contact with her at least once. Whether it is doing actual HR / Payroll business, purchasing, reception duties or in the all important task of serving you refreshments …. Susan is something of a lynch pin in the company.
After six years in payroll at the HMRC, Susan realised she had a greater talent and was at her best dealing with people of all kinds and at all levels. So, a progression into HR seemed like a natural route. Susan is passionate, dedicated and is also something of a veteran at aps having worked at the company for 25 Years
She is keen to point out though that she loves to play just as hard as she works and loves her holidays!
Ray’s reputation for “short arms and extremely deep pockets” goes before him and rightly so. Having worked in numerous financial positions across a wide range of industries, he knows the importance of effective business control and says it’s critical to have at least one person in an organisation who likes to say no!
His experience across all business disciplines allows him to play a valuable support role to the aps team and its clients. When he’s not keeping a keen eye on absolutley everything – he keeps fit by hill walking and visits to the gym.
And of course, like everyone, he has a weakness - the odd bottle of Chardonnay!
Quality Assurance Manager

Although new to contract packing, Susan has a wealth of transferable skills and experience, and manages the fantastic quality system left by her predecessor. Susan’s background in microbiology, food, quality, environmental, and health and safety disciplines, give her the required broad range of skills to fulfil all of aps' quality needs.
With a combined co-packing experience of more than 35 years, Shane, Graham and Terri are responsible for the day-to-day management of all operational processes. Balancing client requirements with aps' own internal targets is the key focus of this team
